In 1980 his first taste of photography was to be photographed by Andy Warhol in Hollywood for Interview magazine. It wasn’t till later he moved to Paris where he had great success as a model. Based in Paris – Steven divided his career between New York, Paris and Milano for more than a decade.

It wasn’t until 1998 he started shooting images in LA and the California Desert. With his long history in Europe, he moved to Paris in 1999. Drawing inspiration from vintage cinema and the highly creative French fashion world, Steven’s photographic style became synonymous to and anchored in these origins.

As a strong advocate of traditional photography and shooting primarily on film, his work was soon recognized for its strong sensual cinematic quality and film noir inspired black and white. The editor of Spoon magazine gave Steven his first brake and his images appeared regularly for Spoon’s women, men and beauty issues monthly. Steven’s work has been exhibited all throughout Europe and he has been a contributor to a range of magazines.
